Do the insurance co.wonks get concerned with the removal of the fork and trailing arm reflectors? Just curious ifthey consider their removal as an act of tampering with safety equipment. On passenger cars where side reflectors are intalled from the factory, covering them or removing them can get you a citation from the man and could be frowned upon by the ins. co. as removing safety equipment (e.g. seatbelts). Most would have to agree, the factory installs them for the riders safety.
I like the looks of clean forks w/out reflectors butam hesitant torisk an insurance co. non-payment if I am hit because theyargue it's because I removed the reflectors.
Anyone know about whether or not removal of the reflectors is illegal or grounds for insurance company not to pay if you are not seen and hit?
Some, but not all states do require them. However as far as I am aware, there is no law that requires them to be the ones installed at the factory.
So the first thing I would do isfind out if there is a legal requirement for them and if so, see if putting LED marker lights, that are more easily hidden or desguised when not on can be substituted.
