Default Neutral Light Out

I have an '03 Fatboy. Recently lost my neutral switch after washing it last. Asked the dealer and they said it could either be the led or neutral safety switch. Where is this switch? Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Thanks.

I'm not sure about your model year, but the neutral switch on my bike is in the transmission. There's a little nubbin that comes off the transmission right in the middle of the bike, between the starter and the tranny. It's just a single wire with a fitting that slides on over that nubbin (not very tightly, on my bike). I'd guess that's the issue, since LEDs are supposed to last a long time. If that fitting is in place, then I'd guess it's some electrical connection between the switch and the light, you'd have to have a wiring diagram to follow, to see where that wire goes.

Pull off the two connecters and put a piece of wire connecting them together, if the light comes on, it's the switch. If not, check the light.
