Well that math seems a little fuzzy. Kelly Blue Book says the trade in value is close to the figure you quote, with the actual retail being a little over 12K. I couldn't find a single 2000Fatboy selling for close to 9K within three states of me. I did find a 98 with 42K miles for 8700.00. This one looks like the better deal to me. Thanks for all the replies.
Who gives a crap what Blue Book says. That bike seems like it's almost new. I would go with that deal in a heartbeat. Seems like it's almost new......and besides that, it's a White Fatboy, doesn't get any better than that!
Ya left out the NADA high retail, rhino. Agree it's a good guide to bargain down the sellers that are dreamers.
I thought you were right. Must have been a cut and paste error, but when I went back and checked, NADA only list a Low and average retail. No High listed. Wiered???

Shakey
Asking prices are on the high side for dealers and dreamers. Mine asked for $11K, bargained down to $9.7K using the NADA guide which is almost always below Kelly Blue Book. A lot depends upon the condition of the bike and the equipment (which you don't drool over) when negotiating. Lots of bikes out there, especially on Craigslist. Good luck with your search.
With that low of mileage it sounds like a good deal. I wouldtry to ensure its had the appropriate maintenance performed. I had a 2000 Fatboy and really miss it sometimes. That was a great bike. I always thought the 1450s were great motors. I had a lot of great times on that bike. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your new Fatboy!!! Please post some pics if everything goes through.
