Default ??POWER LOSS??

Traded in my 03 Fatboy and picked up a 08 Crossbones about 2 months ago. I really dig the bike but I've been having some issues with heat. Dealer tells me it's coming from my pipes, I have RSD Tracker 2 into 1 ... but just the other day I noticed my oil temp was up to 245 degrees and had a massive drop in power. The engine would clatter and knock on take off, and was very sluggish. I really worried about engine damage in the long run... Any one have this problem with the 2008 96B engines?

Well when you did the pipe did you have the bike remapped, did you do an air cleaner, did you do a power commander or anything like that.&nbsp\\; To rid your 96B of the heat issue I would recommend you do the pipe stage 1 and a SERT.&nbsp\\; That will eliminate most of your heat issues.

if you just got it from the dealer and they installed all that then take it back to get fixed. If you bought it used that way then make it stock and take it to a dealer to get the engine fixed. 245 is normal for the new lean burn but if it had a dyno tune and fuel management then it should run cool. yes the new bikes are slower than the old as they are detuned to try to keep them cool.

I've noticed similar issues with my 2008 Nightrain. I have Vance and Hines Big Radius (installed by the dealer when I got the bike about 4-months ago) and went out for a ride a couple of days ago and just noticed terrible power/acceleration, etc. I've only put 1200 miles on the bike and made an appointment to get it checked - out

&nbsp\\;These guys are telling you right. The 07/08 models are designed to run lean and will heat up till it starts running on 1 cylinder at idle&nbsp\\;to prevent engine damage. You have to go to another fuel controller (PCIII,fuel pak, etc.)(air filter)&nbsp\\;to really fix your overheating.I had the same problem.&nbsp\\;Living in AZ I had to find this fix right after purchasing mine last year. Work great now even at 110 temps we're having here now.
