Has anyone actually checked the temperature of their touring bikes engine before and after installation of a Xied.I know most say their engines feel cooler, but I would like to know if and how much.
The difference is too slight to feel without testing equipment. As long as there's more fuel being added to a very lean fuel system it's a premise it's going to be running cooler.
I have them on my bike, and I notice a huge difference with throttle response and power verses the heat issue. That went away when I replaced the head pipes with V&H Power Duals and got rid of the CAT.
How much depends on how you ride, ambient temps, what bike you have, many variables. Also, some feel it and some don't.
On my 96 I made a 30 mile run down the interstate and used an IR gun to measure heat right next to the rear spark plug. Then installed the FL-XiED-10's and made the same run and measure heat in the same place. 15 degrees cooler.
I still have them on work bench...I don't notice the engine hot now...But it's 40 degrees when I ride? Kinda waiting to get the feel of this bike before I put em on ...so I can really tell if any difference with them installed.
