So, after much procrastination, I finally ordered the Quite Baffles for my Shortshots. I'm really happy at the difference they made over the stock baffles. It's a hair quieter, tone is much better, seems to have more torque, and a lot of the decel burping, is gone. It really made a difference. They are by far quiet, but well worth the $$$$...

I had the QBs in my Straight Shots, and I really liked the tone and volume. The problem was they chopped off 10 horsepower, and caused a very lean running condition. To the point that I had a 215 main jet installed and it was barely in the proper Air/Fuel ratio range. As soon as I pulled them out and went back to the Thunder Monsters, the power came back, and the AFR got into the proper area with a 200 main jet. I wasn't as concerned about the power loss as I was about running lean, and had it not been for that, I would have left the QBs in.
Just swapped my VH stright shots to short shots. Didn,t change the baffels but they are quieter than the stright shots. 05' FatBoy, 95" kit with power commander III. Fuel milage still at 45 MPG.
Still looking at the V&\\;H pipes. \\; Can't decide between BigShots Staggered, or the ShortShots Staggered. \\; The BigShots say that they use a chamber that help torque etc., and even out any EFI changes as compared to the ShortShots. \\; I like the ShortShots as they resemble drag pipes and are a lot less money, but will I regret the ShortShots later?

Whoops... did I say $40.. lol I should have said $65.. I got them on Ebay from Chopper Stuff.. I had to take the sheilds off to install the baffels. I am having the sheilds powder coated black, so just have the bare pipes wrapped in black until I get the sheilds back. I have no idea how I'm gonna get em back on without removing the pipes.. \\;I'd say yeah, it's \\;a hard install. I wish V and H would have just punched a hole in the sheilds where the allen bolt is that holds the baffels in.. That would have made things way to simple.. lol
