how do i change oil?

Default how do i change oil?

couldnt find in oil part so i figured i would try here. i have an 05 deuce . gonna be nice saturday so ill be out riding.but i have about 22 hundred miles on oil from last year.is it safe to ride with this oil or do i have to change? dealer cant get me in but i dont have a clue where to start.i use regular oil. dealer said i need o ring filter and oil. about 65 bucs but cant get me in for sat. was looking for a step by step instruction to do myself,any help appreciated,thanks.

look in the tech section of this forum.tou should find what you need. i bellive the drain plug is on the frame dirctly underneath the oil tank on the underside of the frame.

i found it ,thanks but is it ok to ride with oil from last year until i get it done?

It will be fine to ride with the oil that is in the bike. When you change the oil, use a good quality synthetic for the crankcase, like Amsoil or Mobile 1 V-Twin 20W-50.

Harley says change oil every 5000 miles.

I change mine every 2500 miles.

Either way you are fine.Enjoy the ride.

Oil and filter shouldnt be more than 40$ anywhere.
