I agree with jipmkwa, if you are going to use the belt guard bolt go vertical. I think that horizontal plate could look awkward that high on the bike.

what are you mounting the side mount plate to? i looked up the ebay number and it says the holder mounts to the shock mount bolt on sportsters and dynas. how did you do it?
