I just bought my first Harley and ofcourse it's a blue Rocker C (sooooo happpyy with it). Anyway, i want to lift front of the gas tank 2 or 3 inches using the brackets from ChopperStyle. My issue is that I just ordered the drag bar set up for my rocker.
My question is this...Should I raise the front of the tank 2 or 3 inches. I have the feeling that if i raise it 3 inches i'm going to have problems with my turn signals hitting the tank.
you are going to have to relocate the turn signals regardless with either a 2 or 3" kit. this is why my tank lift from chopper style and my drag bars are sitting on the work bench until i have time do it, or until it is winter
really?!?!. So regardless of 2 or 3 inches i have to get rid of them huh??? I called the guy at chopperstyle and he told me that i shouldn't have any problems.
i know there is someone here that has those brackets on their rocker, i saw the thread with the picture i just don't remember which thread it was.....i have a headache from going through all the posts looking for the pic lol lol
I like the way the gas tank looks lifted. The guy that did it to his, was a blue rocker C. Wether he had to or not he relocated his turn signals to the forks.
dude have you really looked @ your turn sigs and how close they're to the
tank when handlebars are in relaxed position?about 1/2 1o 1" from the tank
you totally need to move them if you have stock rocker c handlebars &\\;\\\\\\; go
with a tank lift here's the pic of Windeeds awesome scoot
Thanks Mike for posting the pic. Alain, I was the one that posted about the tank lift. Stay with the 2 inch softail lift. If I would have raiesed the tank 3 inches it looked like the top of the tree would hit the tank. Moving the signal lites is a given either way. I took the time to paint the brackets with touchup paint.
i measured. there is only about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" of clearance with the turn signals as far up as they will go. they need to be relocated with the tank lift. i also have my relocation brackets on order, another reason why i have not do it yet
man that 2 inches makes a world of difference. now the tank is in shape w/ the frame and swing arm like it should have been to begin w/. hadnt ordered my lift kit yet on account of the turn signals issue. anyone know where i can get sum turn signal relocators at reasonable price?
