I went through a similar situation with my bike, I couldn't find one that I liked. I finally did a Google search for sissy bars and found one that I liked. I got some steel at work for free and my son made it for me.
Might I suggest you ensure you want to keep the seat. \\; I am ready to replace my seat and now I have a sissy bar that will need a new pad because it matches the stock seat. \\; [:@]
The question is will the Softail Custom bar fit a Fatboy? \\; Seems the wider fender would make the Custom bar too narrow. \\; I had been considering putting a Custom seat on my 07 Fatboy, but concluded it wouldn't work due to different rear fender (and strut) width.
Our backrests look great on the Fat Boy, plus if you dont want it on it comes off in 2 mins or so. \\; Click on the links in my sig to check em out.
