Okay I want to install some apes on my 07 Fatboy. I have never had apes before and unfortunatley there is no way to try them out before buying them. I am looking at the \\; 1 1/2 Carlini Gangster Apes. They are available in 14, 16, and 18. I ride alot so comfort is an issue as well as looks. I was just going to go with the middle choice of 16 since I don't want them to be to high. Any suggestions would be great.
I have the 1.5" diameter, 16" high gangster apes on the boob risers. I've had them on my bike since last october. It was an easy install and they're really comfortable. I \\;wish I'd \\;gone with the 18's, though.
go with the 16s. i dont know what type of risers you have. most times you can change your risers later if you want to go higher. i have 16 inch ape with 4 inch risers. just about right for me and im 5'10"
if you wanna go with 16" Chubby Wild 1's, I recommend calling Johnny Vaughn at HDBikeParts.com \\; He does package deals, tell him your bike, you bars and he'll send you all the brake, clutch, throttle, wiring extensions you'll need. Takes all the guesswork out. \\; All you need ot supply is the labor and brake fluid.
