Default 2007 Heritage Classic

Ok, am looking at a 2007 Heritage Classic and was wondering about the heat issue. Is it a real problem on the Heritage? Bike has 1700 miles and is stock. Price is $15,500. Is that price in line? Thanks for the info as this is my first Harley.

Thanks!

Always haggle on price. It is worth what you are willing to pay. What heat issue are you referring to?

Default Switch handlebar

I've had my 2007 softtail heritage for 2 months now.
No problems with engine heat.
But I would like to change handlebar to the Narrow Beach Bar!
Does anyone have any experience from this?

Pipes, PCIII, AC, Sync oil, Kuryakin Saddle sheild, no heat problem.

The bars, I put on touring bars, more comfortable for me.

I'm afraid to know my oil temp here in AZ when I ride on a 105 degree day. All I know is that stop lights are hell!!

On the open road heat's not a real issue. When in traffic or stopped, it's throw off some heat, especially on right side. Not a deal breaker for me.

As for the price, figure you can prolly get an 09 for around 20500 out the door. So depends on whether you think the extra few k are worth it to get a new one with a warranty. At 1700 miles, that bike is barely broken in. Not really any significant changes from 07 models to 09s.

Installed the 103" Stage II Big Bore and oil cooler with synthetic in all three holes. I used to see 235-250, which was warm, buy now it never goes over 220. It was never "HOT" like some complain about. On 100 degree days a water cooled scooter is gonna be hot at stop lights. Buy it and enjoy the ride.
PS - Bid them down, always.

Default 2007 Heritage Heat

My 2007 was hot straight out of the showroom especially at temperatures below 40 mph and in town at the traffic lights. Put in a race tuner, Rush mufflers 1 3/4" and synthetic oil...made a big difference. You may have the 5th geat noise...really loud at lower or maybe all RPM's, trcommend red Line 75/145 tranny lubrication oil, or another synthetic oil. At $15,000 I would probably bargain hard for a new 2009 or get the price down a thousand or maybe $1,500. $15K is not an unfair price but certainly not a bargain.
