Thanks for this thread. Your posts have convinced me NOT to get the Big Radius 2 into 2, but to opt for the Big Shots Staggered with the quiet baffels. I want a better sounding pipe like my Husband's screamin eagles, but I dont want to wake the dead either. I live in a retirement community so you can imagine my neighbors would have me going infront of the property association board. I sure dont need that kinda aggrevation.
Like the one guy said, at least V&H makes special baffels for the BSS. With the BR, no such option exists.
So thanks everyone....... I know which style to order now.
Vance and Hines refers you to Big Thunder City. They do not make "quiet baffles" for the BR.
Big City Thunder says the QQ Thunder Monster's will be quieter than the stock baffle if installed at the 6" mark or above in the pipe. They also stated that if you want to quiet it further, you can put part of the stock baffle in in addition to the QQ Thunder Monster's.
I think that shorter pipes are naturally louder than longer pipes. I think the BR's would be about half way in length between short shots and bigshots. I assume that baffles come into this debate somewhere too!
I like Turp's suggestion of trying the QQ baffle and then maybe re-fitting a portion of the BR baffle. Like I said, I only want to reduce the sound by say 10%.
