Frames are the same FL and FX denotes the front forks. If there is a difference between frames is because of a model year change throughout the Softail line. the bodywork is interchangable (less the Carb/EFI gas tanks) I had no problem attaching a FLSTF rear fender just kept is from the same year.

That was my understanding as well. Someone here has a fatboy with a bobbed FXST rear fender.

Thanks dude, the previous owner put them on. They are fat & internaly wired. I've seen new Rockers with similar bars.
