Default Help with risers?

I have just ordered a set of pull-back risers for my 08 Heritage. My question is the metal covering around the forks, how does that come off? Or can i install without removing this? Any hints for this would be great, I have put risers on before but not a Harley.

Thanks
Tim

Two screws (allen head) on each side at fork tubes and a coouple on back plates.

Then just remove the back plates and you can get to the riser bolts. Turn the handle bar to each side to allow more working room......

Watch you don't scratch the front of your tank.

You do not have to remove the metal coverings. You can use a ratchet and socket. Turn your forks away from the side your working on and you can slip the socket in sideways. Another hint is, break the bolt loose but hold it in the trees, then unscrew the riser off from the top and screw the new riser on and tighten bolt.
I hope that came out right.. I know it works because I've done it.

Is it a total 4.5 inch rise or an additional 4.5 inch rise above stock? If it's additional, you may need cables and brake fluid line.
