Who has switched from HD sintered brake pads to Ceramic ??
I am tired of the squeak and black dust, looking for a change as I am due on the rear and the wifes Dyna dual fronts squeak bad. Mine is an '03 Softail and hers is a '00 Dyna.
If you want to stop the squeak, you're better off with floating rotors than ceramic pads. Ceramic pads are a performance downgrade, and they still dust... it's just a lighter colored dust (but just as damaging, so you'll still have to clean it off polished and chromed metal parts).
Re the squeak, also check that your caliper pistons are not binding.
I second the Lyndall pads....I also got the Z Plus pads and they are far superior to the stock pads....while I was at it, I also threw on some steel braided brake lines....
Lyndall Z plus on my Heritage, changed them out 3 months after I put stock pads on and will never regret it. Very little to no dust and I estimate 20% more stopping power with the front brake, rear brake will lock up with either pad. But the rear stays cleaner as it is a pain in the ars to clean and I think I paid 43 bucks a set at Illinois Harley Davidson with my Hog discount. Cheaper than stockers.
Just put Lyndall Z pads on the bike. BIG improvement over stock. Now I feel like the bike will actually stop!
