I like the heel toe shifter on my Deluxe. My only complaint is my size 10 boot barely fits. I just installed an engine guard so after I get my pegs I should have a place to put my feet, and stretch out.

Use it ALL the time. First time I've owned a bike with one and I like it! Highway bars are definately needed though...Size 11.5 here.

I didn't use the heel shifter for months after I got my Heritage because it just didn't feel comfortable. Then I tried adjusting it and have used it ever since.

My wife had me take the heel shifter off her Deluxe which makes it a bit confusing when I steal her bike for the day.

I have read some accounts about pant legs getting caught on the shifter but I haven't had any problems with that.

Don't forget to put some blue threadlocker on the allen screw and tighten it down good.

I have it and use the crap out of it. Like stated before it just takes a little getting used to.

Rarely ride with my feet flat on the foot boards. My engine guard and highway pegs are positioned so my heels rest comfortably on the boards and my toes on the pegs. Just a shift of my toes and I am on the shifter. Feet seem to always e in a forward position so moving my foot back doesn't come into play for me. I took off the heel shifter but I preferred the look with it on so its back on.

Heel shifter rocks.

For those of you who say that the heel shifter gets in the way of your foot, you need the Harley Goodies floorboard extentions http://harleygoodies.com/. They move the floorboard 3/4 of an inch out away from the bike and the heel toe shifter are just off the board allowing you to use the whole board.

Or you could get extended shifter arms if you dont like that idea. http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...de=SB-SHIFT-HD

Always used a heel shifter myself, wouldn't want it any other way. Really don't mind raising my foot to kick it down.

based on what I've seen, this is the only way to fly... actually move the shifter back so it can be completely behind the floor board. don't have to lift you heel, just slide your foot back till it drops off the board and bang, down 1. takes a little getting used to (like everything else about riding) but when/if I ever have a bike that makes sense to me for floor boards, I'll definitely be using the extensions.

My heel shifter went by the wayside...
