I use the front only when i wear summer boots and the heal and toe when i wear longer and taller winter boots. with short boots my pants leg rises.

Karvorkian (sc) makes a spacer to eliminate the heel shifter by filling the gap.
Under $40 and the best (and cheapest I may add) mod I've made so far.

The forum should have a damn sticky on this heel/toe shifter issue!

Folks... there are aftermarket extension shift levers available... up to 2" over stock.

I think Wicked Image has more customized billet levers that are also longer than stock.

yeah, on my streetglide i removed the rear one immediately, and there is a cool little chrome thing that harley has in their parts and accessories catalog that's about twenty bux and it attatches with an allen set screw. that way if you want to return to stock, you can. i agree, size fourteen boots just don't work well with the two shifters. also if you can't reach a happy medium with the splines, you can always adjust the shifter rod that attatches from the shifter bellcrank to the transmission lever. it's threaded too.
