Default Rocker C w/Danny Gray Seat

today i got my Danny Gray seat for my 08 Rocker. After installation of the seat i was wondering if the plastic piece to cover the battery should remain on the bike or should be removed? It is working in boths ways but i'm not sure if it remains on the bike if it's finally get damaged or will brake. Anybody out who has made experience with?
Second, can i use the Frame caps (71697-08) to cover the bolts our is there a modification necessary?
Thanks for the advise

I like the seat, but what i have a problem with is that the front latch is to short and the seat springs. After several times to improve the situation and to bring the latch further into the frame tube, i still have the problem. Worst case the latch slides completely out of the tube and hold up at the bracket of the tank dash cover. The result a even bigger gap between tank - seat. Any idea how i get it fixed?
