hey guys im ordering some burly pull back drags from dennis kirk. they are 10inch rise ans 8inch pullback. would anyone know what lenghths cables i would need or can i use the stock ones? i was told at the stealer i might be able to use stock but the clutch might be short????
hey bud, when I had wo501's on my bike, I think they had the same dimensions. if you havn't checked out the wild 1's bars they are deft. worth a glance. pre-drilled, look awsome. http://www.wild1inc.com/
anyways, the clutch cable and the throttle cables should both reach good, but you will probably have to extend your wires out about three inches. Its not too hard of a job, but you will have to pull your tank. I can walk you through it if you don't know how. You'll need to buy some wire down at your local hardware shop, and be able to use a soldering iron and shrink wrap. If you can do all that you can save some bucks at the Harley shop.
are those the 501's before the springer front end? i was set to buy those same bars but then found the burly's. i like the little extra rise and not as far pullback. the wiring shouldn't be too hard of a task for me. just undo the switches and dis connect? now removing the tank, whats the right way to do that? or could i just add too what i have going to the bars now?
