I have a 2008 Cross Bones . I want to put a 21 inch wheel on the front. I would like to get a wheel with the same with hub width so I won't have to fool with respacing. Does anybody know the width of the hub on my Cross Bones , without me taking it apart ? Does the Cross Bones Share the same Springer as the 2008 & 2009 Screaming eagle Springer ? I looked at a 2009 SE Springer Saturday and it looked like the same Springer and fender set up as a Cross Bones. The Harley Web Site shows a 21 inch laced wheel available for the 2009 SE Springer part number 44607-05.
Another question what determines the Crossbones being a FL verses a FX . The reason I ask is because it looks the same bike as a Night Train except Springer and Floor Boards
dude that xbones is a whole other ball of wax....even if you did a 21 what about the fender it would need to be changes as well
If need be , I'll ax the fender . Could care less if its on there, really prefer it was not. I have all ready talked to J&P they have a Paughco that would work just need to respace it. The 2009 SE Springer has a 18" wheel same tire height and fender clearance as mine . If a standard laced 21 inch wheel from harley would work , as it shows on their website, on the SE , and it has the same Springer as the Cross bones then the hub width should be the same . I'd rather go that way if possible.
I have a 2006 FXSTS with the 21". The rotor is on the right side on the FXSTS and the rotor is on the left on the crossbones. The wheel on the FXSTS is also offset to the right and has different fender supports than the crossbones. Heres some pics.
not sure, but i think there might be a difference between FL springers and FX springers......i think some of the geometry might be different, but a 21 would look bad *** on their!
the x-bones is alright, but i wish they would have brought back the Bad-Boy
if they did, me thinks i wouldnt have an '08 street glide right now!
