Bilboy, do you still have to use the braces that come out of the bottom of the bags if you use the Barebacks? Thanks.

No, you don't and yet the bags are solid as a rock. Which is why I wonder about Harley using them in the first place.

Just bought a '09 Deluxe this past Saturday and put 100 miles on it already. Haven't looked back since, after trading in the '07 Sporty for it...
The good:
Wow. What a difference. The ride, power, performance, and smoooooth, no vibration like the rubber mounted Sporty.. blah blah blah.. Easy turning and super comfort without exception.
Should have bought this model in the first place....
The bad:
Should have bought it in the first place...
Good luck.

I have an 08 and i love it.. stock seat was good for 100 mile rides and then you have numb ***.. Got a great seat on E-Bay......great balance but i have scraped it in the turns a few times..
It was running hot in idle traffic ,so i got the Kuryakin heat shields and threw them on.. seemed to help with the problem..
I also changed the rear pillon seat that was like 6" wide, to the wide one .

6th gear runs like a rolls royce on the freeway

Love my 09 Deluxe. Did put the larger passenger seat on for my wife. She says it is fine. Looking at adding so bags since we seem to be riding a lot more 2 up these days.

I have to agree with most of the comments already listed

Pros: Looks great, rides smooth, great platform to accessorize-then the bike just keeps getting better

Cons: Does run hot, seat is Ok for short trips can become uncomfortable
on longer rides, rear seat is just for show-but as previously mentioned these minor deficiencies can easily be corrected

I ride an 06' and have absolutely no regrets...

Just like any bike on these forums, you can "tweak" to whatever fits YOU!!

I have an 07 and I love it. I just wish some idiot had not pulled out in front of me about a month ago cause I still dont have it back yet. what kind of seat upgrades are people going with if i had to replace one more thing it would be the seat. Try a good FMS (TTS) for me with a good dyno and it will run alot better.
