I have an 05 deluxe the first year they were made.I think its one of the best looking bikes from the factory. it has a good amount of chrome decent seat and rack. nice and low center of gravity. classic look with modern technology can be driven on long trips decent ride. makes a beautiful custom no matter which way you want to go with it be classic or black out what ever.I have been to plenty of shows and got more attention that the OCC bike that was there and some sweet custom builds. I think this bike has a lot to offer its definitely a stopper more people have stopped or when at a light and make favorable comments

I've been riding since 1963...I've ridden 'em all. The Deluxe is by far the finest motorcycle I've ever ridden. Don't believe that crap about you can't tour on 'em. We ride short, long and in between. Just picked up new 2010's and they are still the same excellent, low riding softail. These new ones have the perfect handle bars and seating position...they are superb in every way. Don't what you those guys mean by running lean...fuel injection and away ya go. You won't be disappointed. By the way, if you're concerned about riding a chick bike, I guess any guy that's ever strattled a Sportster is gay too huh? Forget about that crap man...the Deluxe ain't a chick bike it's perfection in every way, detail, looks, performance, handling and satisfaction...have I covered it all?
