Why is anyone even comparing the 2? They are both totally different designs.
The Sears unit is technically a "jack" whereas the above unit is an actual "lift".
If I could have bought the above lift for what I paid for the Sears unit, then it would be in my garage, but unless I am missing something here those "lifts" are still more expensive than the 150.00 I spent on the Sears unit....and don't get me wrong, I want a lift too, just is not in my budget at this time...
Right, if you put a bike on a lift you still need to jack up off the lift in order to change wheels or front end..
I have the sears model not the yellow one the cheaper one.. I have lifted my bike, removed the entire front end and tank, moved it around in my garage and not one problem.. I think most of us tree shade mechanics a simple inexpensive unit works perfect..
I love the concept of the J&S lift...you get a jack and a lift all in one and it appears to be very compact that it would not take up a lot of room in the garage. We have two HD's..'09 Street Bob and '09 Fat Boy...we want to be able to change our oil ourselves and do little maintenance as well....this looks to be the perfect answer based on our needs and space. Thanks for all the reviews and ideas.
