I plan on installing bars on my deluxe over the winter and can't make up my mind on which way to go. I like the look of apes and beach bars. I have heard you can't keep the winshield on with certain bars, but I definitaly still want to be able to put on the windshield when I want. I hear pros and cons of both bars and wanted to know what others think. Are the beach bars a pain in the *** to turn at slow speeds and are apes uncomfortable for long rides? I searched the picture forums and found no pics with winshields on so if someone has some please post up. Thanks
edit: If I go with apes, I would want either want 16" or 18"

I love my apes, but beach bars are nice too. I vote apes but it all depends on what you find comfortable. Do you like down or polyester pillows? 6 of one half dozen of the other.
I have ridden 73k miles with beach bars. They are very comfortable behind a windshield, especially with a backrest. They are no problem for low speed turns unless you have a big beer gut and love handles muffin' toppin' over your jeans.

Are your apes comfortable on long rides? Have tried to install a winshield with your apes? (I know it doesn't look cool but I plan on a ride from OKC to Las Vegas next summer and the windshield would be nice.)

I would say Apes... I have friend with beach bars though and he loves them... Which ever you pick if they fit you right you'll be comfy for even the long rides!
ps Had drag bars for a while and to me the apes fill way more cool... But thats just me
