ok i am wanting to put 20 inch apes on my 08 softail custom i bought a set of switch housings and switches from a guy on here 96 up they have 6 wires on each side i bought a extension wiring kit to extend them i went to the dealer ship to get the pins and connectors to put on these so i dont have to cut mine the guy at the dealership said i need 14 pins 8 on one side 6 on the other am i missing somthing here all i got is 12 wires total i havent took my housings apart yet are the 08s got 2 extra wires any help is appreciated
you're not accounting for the clutch switch...........
my '07 SE Springer has a netural safety switch on the clutch handle, that's your other two wires.
Not sure, is 08 the year they came out with electronic throttles instead of cables? Just replaced my bars and I had 6 wires on each side.
So far as I know only the Touring models have the fly by wire throttle setup.
At least for the time being, apparently supposed to be on all bikes at some point.
Its just a question of when for the rest of us, and personally I'm not too sure I like the idea.
I kind of like having the ability to physically close the throttle if it should become necessary.
