Default Clutch side switch housing problem....

Putting 16" ape hangers on my 08 Softail Custom. Doing this on the cheapcheap.....I cut the wires that were already ran internally. I'm about to start re-soldering with the correct length wires when I notice a problem. I have 9 wires coming outta the switch housing but it only leads to 8 wires under the tank. I take a closer look and notice that I have 2 orange wires with a white stripe...one goes to the horn and the other to the left turn signal. Really wished I was paying closer attention....
Question is....do I just re-solder these back together and then solder the wire extension? I think it can handle the load cause its not very often (never in fact) I have the left signal on while I'm using the horn but I could be way off base here.
I already had some other people check it out to make sure one wire isn't brown and one orange but everyone agrees it is orange w/white stripe.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Those two orange and whites get spliced together and then get the extenion soldered to them. There is a factory splice in the original handlebar harness.

also, when all wiring is completed apply some dielectric compound to the male/female connector pins.
