Wide tire conversion
Hey 95Badboy, My fender struts are flush on the inside of my fender. So all I have to do it switch to a 1 1/4 belt, new rim, and a shorty belt guard? I am planning on buying new rims anyway! Can I use a 18x5.00 rims with this set up? Or should I stick to a 16x3.5? Thanks man!
Oh yeah, just bought a set of adjustable shocks, I will be lowering the bike later on this week!
Got any pictures? Post them up so I can see your ride.

looks like that thing hasn`t see puberty yet!....well i think cuz you want your bike to be woth something someday. is to save and spend the money to do it right. buy a kit or make your own. but do it right don`t duct tape job it. some guys (like ebay stuff) cut corners to save money. and some times it works but ..anybody i know that would look at a bike thats been mickey moused ..would tell em thats why they want to stop u built choppers cuz of guys that think they can save a buck and do it hafe a$$..i know most people don`t have a phat bank book. but you will be way happier to show people you did it right ... but thats my two cents
Got the RC Components 240 conversion. This set-up only use a 1" offset and I have absolutely no "left turning tendencies". I am trying to figure out why so many people say that a simple offset of the primary will make the bike go in circles. The alignment between the front and rear sprocket and the direction of travel hasn't changed.
Its like saying you'll travel in left circles if you put a six-pack in your left saddlebag. Maybe after you drink it - but before??? Anyway. yes the wide swing arm kits are expensive, but don't be fooled into thinking its the only expense: tire, wheel, fender, wiring, sprocket, belt, license frame, paint, wheel spacers, and a ton of time. Out the door (including matching front disk and wheel) over $10K.
I do believe that lightening your wallet of that chunk of change totally offsets the left turning tendencies of the offset primary!

Man your bike looks great. I havea to say that the widder tire is a lot better looking. I just hate that mine looks so skinny. I guess I just need to save up the money and buy a kit. Thanks for all the help!
Thanks 99FXST - it has been quite a commitment. You reach a point when you think, why not just by a full on custom and save a bunch of hassles. Anyway - no regrets.
