right side of the frame near where the swingarm attaches. It's a 5/8" bolt. Took me awhile to learn how to change all 3 holes on these Harley's too. Get a manual, it will help...

There is a drain hose, on the right side of the bike, that you can see, coming from the oil tank, that attaches to the top of the frame. Look under the frame in that area and you will see the 5/8" engine oil, drain plug.
While you are looking under the bike, you should also be able see the transmission, drain plug. It is located between the shocks, toward the forward end. It to is a 5/8" drain plug, for the transmission fluid.

Default Thanks for the help.

I found that trans plug and I've changed the transmission oil (installed a chrome trans cover). I've also changed the primary oil ( I installed a chrome primary cover). I just haven't found the engine oil drain plug, Sounds like I just over looked it. I'll get on it tonight.

Thanks,

Smile Oil plug location

Locate the oil tank. On the rear of the oil tank is an outlet next to the swing arm pivot. This outlet has a short 3" rubber hose that goes down to the frame. Inside the frame is a 5/8" plug that is recessed into the framework. Pull the plug and it will drain the tank. If you want the last drop, there is also a oil plug under the engine that will get you what is left in the dry sump. It will only give you about two tablespoons of oil-- really not worth the effort in the grand scheme of things. When you pull the main oil tank plug, also pull the dip stick and let the vacuum off the tank and it will drain ten times faster. This info is for my 2001 and I doubt that yours is much different. Good luck and also change the filter. Changing the oil and not bothering to change the filter is a fool's errand.
