Default I got the lowering springs...

and am contemplating the install by myself or with a friend. Getting the forks off is simple for me. My concern comes in when I take them all apart and have to reassemble them. I am concerned about getting the fork seals seated properly as I don't have the special tool, and making sure I get it all put back together with everything in the right place. Judging by my abilities thus far Is this a simple install? Should I conquer it myself today or tomorrow?
This is assuming I have the time to get it done. How long should this take?

I am looking at the directions and it says for 2" lower to leave the stock top out spring on the damper rod and install 2 top out springs provided with the kit on the damper rod, however for a 1" lower it says to leave the stock top out spring and only install 1 top out spring on the damper rod. Is this correct? It seems that installing 2 extra top out springs would make it taller than only one. Sounds kinda backwards.

Once again, the question regarding the plastic spacer. Will I need to cut it as it 4". The directions say to leave it sticking up 0-1/2" above the top of the tube before putting the cap back on. Does that sound right?

Okay. Talk me into swapping out the springs now that I have them here.

Default Forks

its not that hard, Once you do it on one youll tell yourself WOW that was simple, Fork seals are really easy with the fork seal tool. I have also used PVC pipe when I didnt have the tool. Works almost as good. Just take your time.

anubisss - I think you already made your mind up. My guess is that you already have it apart. By the way, what lowering/air ride system do you run in the rear?

If I were you, I would call the manufacturer first. Guessing you are putting in the progressive springs. We put those in my buddy's Deuce last spring. Were equally baffled by more spacers making it lower. Well, his bike never was the full 2 inches lower. We thought maybe it would settle, but it didn't. We are going to take it apart and call progressive and see if the instructions are wrong. I would give them a ring before putting it back together.

You shouldn't have to dink w/ the seals anyway. After you unscrew the allen bolt on the bottom of the legs and drain the fluid tip them upside down. Everything will come out no problem. It's an easy mod don't sweat it your more than capable. Directions sound a little screwy I'd call'em real quick. The pvc instrctions are right.
