Your left foot operates it. I put mine on a few weeks ago. Bit of a learning curve, but otherwise it's a blast to ride.

Redbeard: thanx for the reply! I just couldn't wrap my head around it at that time.. DUH.. That shifter peg won't BE a shifter peg anymore! Hey I thought I saw a setup on a scoot pretty much like I wanna do. It was a springer (new un), and it had the bracket bolted on the tank looked like they did back when. I can't seem to find any pics now though! Anyone know what I am talking about? I emailed la jockey too to see if they carry tank shifts like that? I say that is new as it is to me.. it's an 06 (mine) my other one is a 67. see what three feet of snow does to us?! We can't ride so we do **** like this instead of just ridin.... !

here is my 02...i have a tank shift with the clutch on the floor...ITS A BLAST!! gives a whole new life to riding. it will take a bit to get used to and get the clutch adjustment right, about a month, but after that you will be set. i got mine a year ago from Labriola machine. i looked at the widow maker shifter set but one thing changed my mind. a guy said would you rather have both hands on the handlebars in a situation while being able to disengage the clutch or one hand on the handlebars. that made my mind up right there. dont care about down shifting as long as i can get control and disengage the clutch we are good. stopping with one foot becomes easy after awhile...hills are a bit tricky but like i said youll get the hang of it...just have highway bars that will eliminate some hurt feelings.

also if you have a heel toe shifter you can pull the matching pieces off, get a longer bolt, run it between the two, and replace the new foot clutch lever to match the rest of your bike if you have matching sets

Haven't read all of the responses so if already mentioned sorry but as long as you have a front brake it'll be a piece of cake.

Riding both back when a kid owned by friends and the one without front brake was a handfull....at least for me.
