Decided to take advantage of the Sportster trade in offer and move up to the Fat Boy that I always wanted. Made the deal yesterday, and should pick her up on Thursday. Getting an '09, Denim Black. Having the dealer lower it, add a detachable back-rest, a detachable windshield, and do a handlebar swap. It was a really good dealer experience overall. I ended up working with the owner of the shop, and didn't know it until I was almost done with the deal. He was the one who suggested the handlebar swap, based on my height, size, and riding position. He even let me take one of their used '08 Fat Boy's for a test ride first, to make sure I like it.
I will miss my Sporty, but the Fat Boy will be better for when my girl wants to ride. Plus it was always my plan to trade-in after a couple of years, just couldn't pass up an offer of full msrp.
Welcome and congratulations on the new Fat Boy! I just had my 03 FB lowered and I'm enjoying it both for the attitude and feel. I guess you'll be looking at intake and exhaust pretty soon if you didn't take care of that with the purchase.
It is always great to hear about good service from the dealer.
I went from a sporty to a fatboy and absolutely love it. After a while you will wonder why you waited so long. Not that the sporty is not fun, but I rode it home last week from my indy (wife's bike now) and it's just not the same. Fatboys rule....
I know I am going to miss my Sporty. It's been a fun, reliable bike, and I wish I could keep it with the Fat Boy. However, I am really looking forward to having the Fat Boy.
