Huey408, are you DRUNK! Just put a new rear Metzler 880 on my bike. Got 9000 miles out of it. Mostly one up riding. I love the Metzlers, they sound like new tennis shoes on a gym floor when I back my bike out of the garage.

I got about 10k from my last 3 rears, be careful with tires I would rather have a nice sticky tire that wears a little faster than a hard compound ont that hinders some of the fun.

How can I tell if it is shot?
I have 9600 on mine and they still look fine. 07 FLSTC
Does any one have pics of the wear indicators?

usually get about 10 thou. out of the rear
front tire is the 21 inch and they go away faster only get 8 thou or so out of it you guys with the big fat 16's on both ends can do the 2 for 1 thing that is what I have always had except for bikes with the 21 up front
nobody gets 20/30 thou out of a bike tire except those using a trailor. those guys must be much older than I am and I am 68 been riding these thing for 50 yrs and never gotten near that mileage even back when we used car tires..

Looking at that picture of your tire I guess there are no corners in your part of Texas . Ive never seen a tire worn so flat in the middle with the nubs still intact on the sides..

I got 8100 out of my stock 200 rear dunlop. That included some hard stops, a couple of burnouts, and wearing down the replacement indicators.

Chief40al, you asked about wear indicators. Look close at the tread grooves near the center of the tire. Every so often there is a little bar of rubber in the bottom of the groove, kind of a raised bar across the bottom. When it wears down to them, there will still be some groove left but it's time to replace. Your car tires have them too.
