Just installed the screaming eagle stage 1 intake and pcv from fuel moto last night. The bike is running nice, but you can smell fuel when you start it up. Also, if you rev the bike up and let off the throttle a small flame will usually come out of the exhaust (I have the Hooker Troublemakers). Anybody else have this happen? I'm guessing I'm going to need to call Jamie and have him tweak my map. I guess on the good side it's running rich instead of lean like stock :-P
If I were installing a fuel management system on my bike, I would at LEAST run an EGA to determine what my AFR is! Kind of like using the "ear method" to set dynamic timing!
I recommend first checking the closed throttle postion settings in the PC software and make sure it reads 0% at idle. Also note that if you agressively rev your bike with no load it is very common to get some backfiring with this pipe design. If you need any help just give me a call.
Sounds good Jamie. I'll check that out tomorrow if I get a minute. You don't sound to worried so that is a good thing. The bike also seems like it takes a lil longer to fire up when I start it. But, I'm not too worried about it for the moment. I'll have to load the software on my computer and check everything out. When I have some more information that I can give you I'll let you know Bike definitely pulls a lot harder now though!
Well, bad thing happened. On my way back from Iron Horse I stopped at a gas station to get a red bull. Came out, sat on the bike, and turned on the ignition. Went fine, then I hit the starter button...bike went dead. Did it about 3 or 4 times. Hopped off the bike and tried another couple of times. On the third time it started. Kinda weird.
Update. My bike can barely start, and when it does it runs terrible. Popping, farting, lunging, etc... I almost didn't think it was gonna make it home today. I think I'm gonna look into the thunder mountain auto tune
