I had a Heritage for nearly 5 years and it was a great bike, traded it in 14 months ago for a crossbones and never regretted it, I'm lucky as my wife rides a dyna so I can keep the bones single seat, before she learnt to ride she used to say the heritage pillion was very comfy I wouldn't like to vouch for the crossbones pillion

Cross Bones. It has definitely grown on my since joining the Forum.

I'm not a fan of all the studded leather. Heritage just doesn't do it for me.

Assuming your assessment of ride quality and price is consistent with both bikes, unless you are hell bent on a Springer front end, go with the Heritage.

The Heritage is one of the best values HD has in their lineup. You get all the touring accessories for effectively the same price as a Deluxe. You have the ability to go full tour mode or strip it down for a retro bare bones look.

If your plan is to create a custom the Heritage is a great canvas to start with. It has a lot of great features plus the aforementioned touring accessories. Even if the touring accessories don't fit your master vision, they can be sold for parts money.

If you are truly torn between the two, split the difference and look for a Heritage Springer. The great points of each wrapped up in one package.

I have the answer for you. Get a Heritage Springer, best of both worlds.

Yeah, too bad you can't put quick release bags and a windshield on a Crossbones for those long trips.
