Question Cam chain tencioner wear

I own a 2008 Train, a good friend that is a mech at the local Indy was talking about the tencioner wear on the twin cams and that at around 25000 miles for a precaution it should be replaced. Just wondering if anybody else has heard or experenced this. I am at 24000 now and he's got me wondering.

You have the newer setup. You shouldn't have a problem.

The hydraulic set up that was installed in '07-later bikes is WAY better than previous years. I'd have it looked at when they do your 25k service, but I'm willing to be that nothing needs to be done to them.

Does HD check it on the 25k service or do you have to request and pay extra?

Well, for what it's worth, the chain tensioners on my '03 Heritage went 50K miles before I had them replaced. The new ones are an updated design made from the same materials that the '07 and up models use. Was told they should get 50K no problem. My other bike, '07 Heritage, has 35K miles on it. The tensioners still look brand new. I wouldn't worry about them for a while.

Is it just 07+ bikes? My 06 Dyna has the new system I thought as well.. Hydraulic lifters, and all that jazz..
