The wife just found her next dream bike a 06 Screamin Eagle Fat Boy in the silver and blue color. The bike only has 4,000 miles on it with a dealer asking $18900. for it. The dealer is well known to us so there are no mistrusts with the dealer.
I don't usually pay close attention to the specialty bikes so I don't k now much about this bike, does anyone here have any input as to specific problems with the 06 SE Fat Boy?
The bike would mainly be for the day rides, to & from work for her and about two weekend trips a year. She does know she can get a new Fat Boy for less or her other main choice is a Softtail Deluxe but she likes that the 06 is a little unique.
Really nice bike. They're 103". I'd only worry about the cam drive tensioners like any other '06 or earlier twin cam. Lotta chrome and beautiful paint. One of my faves.
The silver and blue paint is very nice looking. I have drove a SE Road King with the 103 and it was much nicer than my stock 03 EG. The dealer will let us take it for a ride so that will be the next thing, I will probably like it better than the wife but don't want to let on to that.
The 06' didn't have any problems. The 103 is one of the better motors and the rest of the bike has a proven track record. How could someone own a SE Fatboy and only put 4000 miles on it in 3 plus years is beyond me.
A dealer by my work has a 2006 SE Fatboy with 1320 miles. They are asking $21,200 so I would say the price of the bike you are looking at is pretty good.
The pictures you have from the dealers site look just like it, same color. The one we are looking at has the windshield as well. The dealer will let us take it for a test ride if the weather straightens out a bit.
