Default Fat Boy w/ new V&H BSS, Fuel Pack and SE A/C

Just got it back from the dealers and I highly recommend this setup. It sounds vicious and looks outstanding on a Fat Boy (very well-designed pipes and great lines).

At first I was concerned about how loud it is. After riding it for 3 hours the first night I love the deep rumble and rolling the throttle at a light is music to my ears and lets others know you're there.

I highly recommend this setup if you have any doubts or confusion about what looks or sounds great on a Fat Boy. (Sorry no pics, but there are plenty of the 2009 Fat Boy in vivid black with these pipes).

I am very pleased with the Fuel Pack. V&H really has it dialed in.

Congrats on your set-up. When I ordered my Fatboy back in 05 to get an 06 model. Yes in vivid black, I got the stage 1, s/e air kit and v/h s/shot staggered pipes along with the fuel pack. Fortunately for you it was a good set up, but for me,could never get it dialed in without popping on decel and hesitations and so forth. too many problems for me. Went over to p/c III and what a difference. Jamie at Fuel Moto set me up. He is a genius when it comes to fuel management. It was like night and day between the fuel pak and p/c III. Don't get me wrong on your set-up. It works for alot of rides, but, mine it didn't. Plus, there are so many different fuel management set ups out there and only certain ones work for particular set-ups. Sorry about this saga. Just gave my opinion on the different set ups out there that's all. Good Luck with yours and keep it on two wheels. ..Ride safe...Ray

fatboy1729: I had the same set up as both of you, and I did have some decel popping issues. I went to a Kuryakyn ProM Hypercharger, and it went away. Extra bonus was it felt a little stronger as well.

The big shot staggered is the only way to go when buying 2-2 V&H pipes and hoping for good power if you upgrade to a stage 3 build. The BSS are the only V&H pipes that have the power chamber and they are also stepped up from 1 3/4 at the head pipe to 2 1/8 exit diameter. According to the V&H tech they were the only 2-2 pipes they sell that would work with my stage 3 95" build. The stadard big shots and the short shots do not have the power chamber and do not step up to the larger exit pipe. They can certainly cost you some overall performance.

Plus the BSS sound good.

Look at this dyno showing the difference between the standard big shot and the staggered. its staggering!!

So these numbers are pre-tune.
The blue lines are the Big Shot Staggered with baffles.
The red lines are Big Shot Standard without any baffles.
The Green lines are Big Shot Standard with baffles.

This is on a stage 3 95" build with 211 cams, milled and ported heads, hand matched rings, 3 angle valve job, adjustable P-Rods and a SE heavy breather.

The bike literally choked itself when trying to run through a baffled set of Big Shot Standards.

The gains even pretune are huge with the Staggered pipes probably due to the power chamber.

The end result of my build running the Big Shot Stagggereds with baffles was 93Hp and 104Tq.

If you wanna make power and run pretty looking V&H 2-2's??? You really will need to be buying the BSS with power chamber!

PCH, I just got mine done as well ..V&H Double Barrels, AN Big Sucker, and dyno tune ...

Thing is that Big Suck sticks out a lot farther than the stock on so I'm hitting my leg as I go for the back break. I ordred an extended break pedal that is an inch longer than stock. I know that teh Big Suck II sticks out even more so if thats an issue for you, order this guy ...was only $36 on eBay with free shipping

Weird (coincidence) that you'd bring this up now because yesterday on the
ride home I (for the first time) thought the same thing but it was only a slight
nuisance so I probably wouldn't have worried about it... but I'm glad you're
on top of this... I'll check out the extension.

Question: That won't interfere with my Mark III's right? I don't think 1" would
matter that much?

Also, I noticed that the pedal more closely resembles the Mark III ISO pegs so
that's cool.

Thanks.

Nope, it wont mess with your pegs, its just a replacement brake pad thats a bit thinner and 1 inch wider to the right. Its cheap enough, looks decent, and I dont like hitting my leg. Plus if you get any more Kuryakn stuff it will match! I have the ISO grips and they have the same styling.
