Red face Fluid Drain & Fill Locations

> Need help finding the location of the drain and fill plugs for the primary and trany on a 2000 fatboy!! Also how much fluid.

Ok. Before someone else says it I will. Get a service manual. that being said, the drain plug for the primary is towards the back of the primary on the bottom. If I remember correctly it is an allen head. Transmission drain plug is on the bottom of the the transmission between the 2 shocks. I use a wratchet with an extension to reach it. My manual for my 2002 says 26 oz's for the primary. Fill it through the primary inspection cover (small cover near the center of the primary) The screws on teh primary inspection cover are torx t 27, not 25. If you use 25 you will msot likely strip it.

Transmission takes 20-24 oz's. Inspect o rings and replace necessary.

Don't foget the crank case. Let me know if you need the info on that.

That was quite informative. Is that castor oil in the Primary?

Absolutely. Castor oil is the only way to fly.

he aint kidding, get a service manual. if cost is an issue half the price on ebay

both gearbox and engine drain are 5/8 socket size, engine drain plug is on exhaust side behind the transmission next to frame rail, easy to hav a quick geez and u will see

Wow, basic oil change info is in the owners manual. That should have came with the bike.
