Default Primary check and add location(s)?
2005 FLSTC
Since I have to remove the large round primary cover to check the oil level, why then do I have to also remove the "oblong" cover to add oil? Does this make sense? Can I not just add primary oil through the cover that exposes the clutch? Thanks.

The oblong inspection cover is a place to check your chain adjustment. It is also where mid controls come through.

I always add the oil through the "inspection cover." No need to remove the derby cover unless adjusting the clutch.
