If you stick with the 1.75's you don't have to remap; go to the 2"s and you will. I have the 2"s on my deluxe; my husband has the 1.75's on his Road King. No appreciable difference in sound really. Mine might be just a touch louder. Certainly great sound for the money. They do get a bit louder once they heat up from cold in IMHO opinion, but I haven't noticed any real change in the sound over time and I have several thousand miles on mine now.
Would love to get a set of the Vance & Hines big radius pipes or the Hooker trouble makers just because I think the curves of those piples look great on the Deluxe and they have good sound but that's whole exhaust and will cost me four times as much as the Rush Slipons which do sound great. I also love Rhineharts. They sound great and now make slipons but I haven't seen a set on a Deluxe yet. Just my .02.
Hey! Im brand spankin new to this forum but I have a hot lead for all of ya'll. I have a set of rush slip ons, didnt re map, and have about 6k on them. I have an 07 FXST by the way, havent filled out my stuff yet. They are starting to sound like crap. Which brings me to my next point. I also LOVE the Hooker Troublemakers and was planning out a purchase after a few months of tucking money away as they are almost 700 pipes right??? Well, I was dreaming on the internet a few days ago, went to Hookers website, and there they are . . . . $152!!! I immediately put in my card info and got em on the door step yesterday for 168 shipped. I jumped on it because I didnt want that to be a limited time special and miss out. GO TO THEIR WEBSITE!! if you have an extra buck 60 and some change!! Dennis Kirk and others still have them priced over 600 bucks! I hope this info helps, and look forward to being a member of this forum!
ahh haaa, that makes sense. It seemed like a going out of business sale, but couldnt imagine the whole comp shutting down. Ive gotta set sitting in my garage, waiting on funds for a flash. Question : I want to install these things myself and avoid the 80 bucks from the dealer, do yall think there would be any issues with me installing them and riding it to the dealer to get flashed?? ie: how bad will it act with these installed and not being flashed? Sorry for a simi - high jacking, and thanks in advance!!
Am I missing something? When I go to the website it appears that they are only offering that deal on the straight end and slash down Hooker Troublemakers Radius pipes and not the scalloped end, which is what I'm after. A great deal for sure, but I really like the scalloped ends on the pipes best.

I noticed that too. My buddy has a Street Bob and just got the V&H Big radius put on. I reaaaallly like those pipes, but wasn't going to get the same ones as him, hes also a roommate. So, I saw Hooker offered the scalloped and liked them. I was kinda pissed when I saw that they didn't offer them for softies but was also drawn to the slash downs. They do offer scallops for softies in black, but I was after the chrome. And for 160 bucks, there wasnt much deliberations to it, they still have that awesome sweep, just are pointed at the pavement instead, I cant wait to get em on.
I just looked back at the page and noticed that the scalloped cuts are not available for dynas anymore either. They were there as of last week, so I think he was right in saying they are getting out of the motorcycle business, must be emptying the stock they have left. I would expect the scallops to be the first to go.
Anyone have any input on what my bike will run like if I put these Troublemakers on and ride to the dealer for a map??
Good Luck Georgia and thanks in advance to everyone.
