I just installed a Memphis Shade (Rio Grande) Sport Shield 21" W x 19" H on my 2000 Soft Tail standard. It's doing O.K. I guess, but I am experiencing some wind disturbance (buffering?) aound my neck. I can take my hand and move it around in front of me and all I can feel is the wind coming from around / over the tank. Will Memphis Shade "lowers" solve this problem or is this something I'll just have to live with.
I have experimented with various heights and angles. Where it is now is the best I think I can get it..... but I'm having the above problem.
Any suggestions welcome
Can't help with the windshield you have but should you decide to go to a different one I've had good luck with "WindVest". I replaced the Harley touring shield on my Springer Classic with one and don't have any buffeting. It wasn't near a calm behind the Harley shield as it is with the WindVest.
If you decide to try one I suggest you look on ebay. You can find them for less than half of retail.
I paid $85.00 for mine. It retails for $340.00
I have one for my bike as well and there is some wind from below the shield, the lowers will probably help but first if you dont already, try riding with your knees tight to the gas tank and see if that helps stop the wind from under and around the gas tank
