go for the apes, at least 12". check your area to see what is legal, some limit height to not above shoulder. 16" might get you above that. the chubbies are really nice for sure. when you order the bars they can get you up for the SS cable length. good luck and let us know how it goes.
I have 13" apes and I think I'm one of the few people that doesn't like them. I love the way they look, but I just got my old beach bars back from powdercoating and they're going on ASAP.
