I always wanted to scrape mine but never could untill i put lower tire on it. was scary the first time but learned to lean me more and not the bike.
Someone needs to tell me more about these "magnesium strips". Now that sounds like FUN!
Old Lowrider trick. They used to weld strips of magnesium or titanium under the back of the car, then when they dumped it, especially at night, they'd throw nice, bright white trails of sparks.
Keep scrapin' & it's only a matter of time before you'll be off..
Where's your safety margin if you're grounding down? It only needs a bump or pothole & you'll be eatin' tar.
Not true.
The amount of lean angle required to touch them down isn't even close to the point of breaking traction. Plus they fold up.
I'd be much more concerned about dropping the front tire into the pothole.
As soon as you can change to an Avon Venom tyre. This will not stop the scraping, but the shape of the tyre makes the floorboards scrap a bit less often.
