Well I have been looking at some used ones. I found a real nice one all decked out, but the guy wants 21500 for it. Its only got 500 miles. But then again, there is something bout being the origianl owner I guess. I got time to look, but im keeping my options open. Im in Iraq and trying to get it through the military program.

HoWolf, how comfy is that seat you got on there?

I would go with the Custom, like howolf said, its a classic.
There are also a hell of a lot more aftermarket parts made to fit it than the Rocker.
So unless your really into that big tire look I don't see any advantage to getting one.
Besides I hate that oil tank and the color matched frame is going to limit your color options (unless you get that painted too) if you decide to get a custom paint job later.

Custom all the way. I don't like the look of the rocker with the passenger seat setup.
Good luck with whatever you pick.

They're everywhere.
That is exactly what I was going to post. Also, I don't care for the Rocker, but that is just my opinion.

Softail Custom VS Rocker C
There is a brand new one sitting at the dealership where I bought my Bones. It's got maroon tins and it looks great. Zylstra's HD in Ames, Iowa.

It stands to reason that a 1200 mile say...07-08 Train for 4 grand less than a new one would have you a well modified 07-08 Vs' a bone stock 09 for the same moolah?

I would rather have the money left over to do a stage 2 motored, aped, solo seated whatever it is you want to do 1-2 year old bike than a new stocker for the same cashola.

Uber low mileage Trains are abundant.

I would avoid the pre-fixed up ones. $21,500.00 is steep unless its exactly what you want?

I bought mine used with stuff on it I thought I wanted.....I bought it cheap from a fellow member.

In 4 months almost every mod the previous owner did is gone or going away soon.

Then:

Now:

I have swapped out a ton of the PO's mods. Sold most of the stuff right here on HDF....

Anyone need a chrome front Night train wheel, Set of rotors or pristine black cherry fender?

You get the idea....You may end up paying extra for stuff that you wanted to choose yourself. Then yours just paying for it twice. When I bought my bike I made it clear to the sellor that his trinkets held zero value for me. Nada, Zip, Zilch and I bought the bike as if it were just a pristyine clean used bike. No added value for mods.

Those mods he has done are worth maybe .25 cents on the dollar if thats what you dig.

Oddly you are like the second or third guy in the past few months...Yes months to post a link to that very bike.

New train? what 15-16K OTD.

So would you rather have that "Done" bike or a new one with no mods and a check for say...6 grand?

No brainer for me. Half the fun of owning these bikes is shopping for parts and putting them on. Shopping for bits and pieces is fun then I'm like a crackhead waiting on the UPS guy. He is my dealer mang!! And I'm strung the fvck out.

18K on the murdered out black train? Yeah...21.5K Not me.

I think the guy want to much for his bike, if he values it that much he should keep it. If his mods are your mods just add up the cost of doing it your self on a more stock used bike and see where you come out.... I think he's overpriced.
