Parts are gonna be harder to find for the Rocker than the Custom.

I always liked the idea of doing the mods myself. I only feel there done right if I do them myself. As someone else already said allot of the fun to owning one of these is going looking for what you will add next.

i've seen some bad looking rockers on here. if you look around you can get some good deals on used nt's. i got mine last year, it's an 08. it was 4 months old with lots of accessories 2k miles on it and waay below the prices your looking at. have you searched craig's list?

H-D will possibly/probably replace the NT with something to fill its place in the lineup. You might also consider waiting a little bit to see what that might be. Since the 'Train was so popular I would hedge that they have something better to replace it.

But I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

If you want an '09 Train, my local dealer has one in Black Pearl sitting there and it has been since last year.. If you want more info let me know and I'll help all I can..

Like others have said, low mileage used NT's are all over and some are smokin deals.. I would stay away from buying one already modified unless it is exactly the way you would do it..

As for Rockers and Customs.. It's your call.. Which you do you like best?.. I looked hard at the NT and opted for the Rocker.. I bought the straight Rocker because I didn't want all the chrome.. The stock bike wasn't exactly what I wanted but it provided me with the base I was looking for.. Big tire and raked front end.. It would have been nice to have the black engine package as well but that something I had to give up.. Like someone said, parts for the Rocker are harder to come by although there are more options all the time..

The Custom has been around for a long time and there are tons of parts available for it.. On the other hand, the base Custom does nothing for me and IMO is kinda ugly.. In order for ME to make it the way I wanted I would have spent more money (including the purchase price difference)..

Bottom line is that it's your call on what you want the end result to look like.. At least you have choices..

Zero question.
Custom all the way. I had them both and sold the Rocker.
It was the extra bike for friends. I always got the same response, they wanted to ride the Custom for all the right reasons.
Custom, far nicer ride.

Pass on the E bay bike.... he has been trying to sell it for months... way overpriced!
I would look harder for a unmolested Train.... because if that's the bike you want... you will not be happy with another....

+1 I agree with Cheesecake.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Rocker and have no regrets but it really sounds like to me your heart is in the Train so just be patient and keep looking. Then you won't regret it later.
