Well gentlemen (and ladies if there are any on the board), I took delivery of my brand new 2004 FLSTF today!! I haven't been on a bike in 6 years so I was a bit nervous about riding a 700 pound bike, but the Fat Boy is the most balanced bike I have ever ridden. Just turn your head and that is where you go. I forgot how good the wind feels blowing against your body at 55 mph!! The bike is cobalt blue and sunglo yellow pearl. She's a real beauty. I will post some pics in the next couple of days. By the way, if anyone in the Atlanta area is looking for a dealer, Cartersville H-D (a division of earl small's) is the best in the area. I bought the bike at MSRP and it only took 3 days from the time I filled out the credit app til the time I was riding. Got a helluva financing deal from Harley as well. Go see Dennis or Bobby at Cartersville for your next bike purchase and you will not be disappointed. The best sales, F & I, and customer service of any dealership I have visited in the last 3 months.
If you purchased your Hawg on Oct. 30, I purchased a twin of a different color the same day. I have not been on a bike for 15 years until my son purchased a R6 Yamaha. The fever took hold and a 04 Fatboy now sits in my driveway.
Like yourself, my last bike was a 1962 Harley which required lots of rider input to start and stay running .. having not touched a cycle since 1976 (showing my age) cruizing on my 05 "Fat Boy" has been a real pleasure and one I have missed for too long - ok, kids needed to be raised, sent off to college and all the bill paid - now its my turn.
I'm happy for you Jeremy. Glad that you were able to get your new FB. Hope that she performs the way that you want it to and you have a lot of fun riding.
