Default Question

Hey guys im replacing the stock master cylinder cover with the chrome cover. Just the cover keep in mind. Question is will i need to bleed the brakes if im just replacing the master cylinder cover? I tried taking the stock cover off today and it started leaking a little, so i tightened it back up till i get the facts on what to do.

Shouldn't have to bleed them if you are only replacing the cap/cover.

No, you don't have to bleed the brakes ...Make sure the master cylinder is level when you take the top off, else you'll have leakage.

Remove two screws. Lift off cover. Place new cover on resevoir. Install two screws. Clean fluid off bike. Might want to cover any parts that may get fluid dripped on while you're doing this delicate mechanical operation.

yep cover the bike with shower curtain $2. you will be glad you did. if it had been a while then while your there flush the fluid. it is about the same amount of work and will save you from doing it later. dont over fill.
