I've never riden a FB, but I can tell you that in my opinion, the NT is really at it's best as a one-up bike. THAT I can tell you from experience. Ergonomics and asthetics dictate it.

I say NT...but I also have one. I do about a 50/50 split of 2 up an 1 up. With the detachable backrest life is sweet. There is a nice gap in between the driver and the rider. stock seat sucks from driver or rider. never rode a fatty so i cant say how the stock seat is, but im betting its just as hard for a long ride. get the train and a comfy seat and sissy bar for the two up days!

Default Night Train

I replaced the stock seat on my 2008 Night Train with the Signature Seat with rider backrest (Harley Part #51985-08). Used detachable side plates in wrinkle black finish (#53857-00A) and Wrinkle Black Low Upright Mini-Medallion Style Sissy Bar (#53407-06) and Smooth Bucket Low Backrest Pad (#51132-98). Together these provide a comfortable seat for both rider and passenger. I don't like the look of the backrest though, so I'm considering replacing it with another Low Backrest Pad.
I have also tried the Retro King/Queen Seat on it but didn't like the ride. (I'm an old fart and need the padding).
Has anyone on here ever tried using the Sundowner Deep Bucket Seat (Deuce) on a Night Train? Will it fit? Looks like a comfortable replacement, but Parts Catalog says FXSTD only.

Night Train. I ride solo and also ride 2 up with my wife all the time and it handles great. I would think that as much as the Fat Boy may handle only slightly better 2 up, it's not enough to warrant the kick *** looks and ride of the Train. So if you like the looks of the NT better, then go for it. Either bike will ride 2 up fine..which bike do you like the best solo riding is really the question.

Here's my wife after an hour riding as my passenger... see how happy she is?
