08' Softail ... Overheating or bigger problem?
Scenario: Yesterday while navigating through heavy stop and go traffic my fuel gauge, check engine and security system indicators lit up. I was low on gas, probably a little more than a gallon remaining. The bike was a little sluggish during short bursts of sustained riding. When accelerating from a stop the bike seemed to gasp and chug as if I was in the wrong gear or it wasn't getting enough of something, fuel or air I would assume.
Questions:
1. Would this be indicative of overheating? What should I do in this situation?
2. Could the ThunderMax be part of the problem, i.e., system not mapped correctly?
3. Are Softail models equipped with the Engine Temperature Management System?
